Carl Currie is Bob's deceased brother who, though having no friends of his own, thought of Johnny Rose as a personal hero, even though he never met him in person.
Overview[]
Carl committed suicide in May of 2015 prior to the events of the episode, Carl's Funeral. His body was found hanging from the ceiling fan and was not discovered until two days after his passing. It is interesting to note that Carl's brother, Bob, along with many others of Schitt's Creek were to believe his death was a "freak accident" involving Carl trying to untie his belt after it got caught in the ceiling fan.
Carl’s funeral took place in a church in Schitt's Creek, and was attended by many of Carl's family and friends. Included in the service was an excerpt from Breaking Dawn read by Shannon, a eulogy delivered by Johnny Rose, and a performance of Danny Boy by Moira Rose.
His home, described as being a “charming studio apartment in Lower SC”, is later put up for rent, managed by Ray Butani. In The Motel Guest, Alexis and David Rose tour the residence, which is only $275 a month, however after hearing of Carl's in-house suicide, they quickly lose interest.
