Cheryl Mullens is Ted's mother, who comes to Schitt's Creek from Elm Ridge for an impromptu visit in the episode, “A Whisper of Desire”.
Overview[]
Before the events of the episode, Cheryl was said to be over-weight and recently separated from Ted's step-father. After this separation, however, Cheryl began a whole new lease on life; losing 80 pounds, changing her diet, and taking Zumba classes in the process.
During the events of the episode, Cheryl, who stays at the Rosebud Motel, is believed by Johnny to be giving him subtle flirtations. She even invites him to go with her to view a photograph gallery in Elmdale. Later, it is revealed that she has actually fallen for her zumba instructor, Bill, and only thinks Johnny as a brother-figure.
