Ruth Clancy was an assistant to Mike Morrison, working for Advantage Capital in New York City, that is before she quits to run her own venture capital firm.

She welcomes Johnny Rose, Stevie Budd, and Roland Schitt of Rosebud Motel to Advantage Capital before they deliver their motel expansion pitch to the senior partners: a vision of revitalizing a dying industry and providing a new generation of travelers with a window into small-town life. Though after a failed pitch, Ruth approaches Johnny, Stevie, and Roland and informs them that she and two junior partners are in the process of starting their own venture capital firm and hoping to get behind Rosebud Motel.
